Practice Experience
Ms.Yang is the managing partner of Hui Zhong Beijing office. She devotes her focus to international commercial and investment arbitration as well as cross-border litigation. She has particular expertise in handling complex contentious matters involving multiple jurisdictions. Ms.Yang has advised both domestic and foreign clients in a broad range of sectors such as real estate, construction, IT biotechnology, Hi-tech, and automobiles in proceedings conducted at the lCSID, PCA, ICC. HKIAC. SIAC. CIETAC. BAC and different levels of domestic courts including the Supreme People's Court of China.
Ms. Yang is licensed in China and the State of New York. She is an arbitrator of the HKIAC and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, and a specialist mediator of the Singapore International Mediation Centre.

Representative cases
▪ Represent a Chines investor in an ICSID arbitration against an East Asian sovereign state under a bilateral investment treaty with hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars at stake; this case received China Business Awards – Deals of the Year 2020;
▪ As counsel to a property owner of a landmark building in Beijing which is valued over USD 1.2 billion, defending the client’s interests in over 50 parallel and related proceedings in various jurisdictions;
▪ Successfully defended a major domestic automobile company against several Egypt companies through parallel ICC and CIETAC arbitrations, domestic courts’ proceedings relating to validity of arbitration agreements as well as domestic enforcement proceedings with over USD 100 million at stake;
▪ Represent an Austrian engineering company in an ICC arbitration against a SOE relating to infringement of know-how, with EUR 30 million at stake;
▪ Successfully obtained a favorable settlement for a domestic solar hi-tech company in a large sales dispute against its Japanese supplier in a HKIAC arbitration with RMB 240 million at stake;
▪ Advise a large-scale state-owned technology trading enterprise and a major state-owned power plant construction company on complicate quality and delay issues arising out of several overseas power plant projects;
▪ Advised a global leading biotechnology company headquartered in Denmark, on administrative law proceedings concerning the validity of an invention patent. The case has been voted one of the top 10 cases of the PRC Patent Reexamination Board in 2012 and one of the top 10 IP cases of the PRC Supreme Court in 2016.
