Practice Experience
Ms. Wu is a newly promoted partner of Hui Zhong and currently works in our Shanghai office. She specializes in litigation and arbitration and has extensive hands-on experience on a wide range of commercial disputes. She specializes in international and domestic trade-related cases and is familiar with long-term supply contract disputes; she has handled several cases related to independent letters of guarantee and distribution agreements; and is familiar with foreign investment, construction and engineering, intellectual property (including trademark and proprietary technology disputes), aviation and labor-related disputes. Ms. Wu has represented clients before the Supreme People's Court and other courts at all levels. She also handles commercial arbitration disputes and has represented clients in arbitration disputes before several well-known arbitration institutions, such as the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
Ms. Wu also provides general legal advice to clients in their daily operations and assists companies in their business activities. She has expertise in employment law and has provided employment law advice and handled numerous employment disputes for several Fortune 500 companies. Her major clients' businesses span from petroleum, biotechnology, equipment manufacturing, software and trading.

Representative cases
▪ Represented a leading Chinese automobile manufacturer in a dispute with Egyptian parties over an auto parts manufacturing and distribution agreement involving multiple parallel actions and parallel arbitrations, including ICC arbitration, Hong Kong court vacating the arbitration award, CIETAC arbitration, and non-recognition and enforcement in China. Ultimately represented the client in obtaining a successful award in a CIETAC arbitration and successfully preventing the enforcement of the unsuccessful award abroad from being recognized in China.
▪ Represented a Chinese bank in parallel litigation with a Hong Kong bank in relation to an independent guarantee and independent counter-guarantee guarantee before the Supreme Court of China and creating the first typical Supreme Court precedent in this area in relation to bank fraud.
▪ Represented a state-owned highway operator in a contractual dispute between the company and its partner over a highway construction and operation contract before a provincial high court and the Supreme People's Court, resulting in a successful outcome.
▪ Represented a number of foreign companies in applying to Chinese courts for recognition and enforcement of foreign awards and obtained the enforcement.
