Hui Zhong has acted in numerous matters before the International Commercial Court of the Supreme People’s Court (ICC-SPC) and in litigation at the supreme-court level in the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Scotland and Hong Kong SAR.

Representative cases

Representative ICC-SPC cases include:

  • Successfully represented a world-leading private-equity and investment advisory firm in an equity-acquisition dispute against a prominent domestic restaurant group. The dispute, valued at US$ 150 million, encompassed CIETAC arbitration and subsequent set-aside proceedings before the ICC-SPC—the first annulment action ever filed with the Court.
  • Representing a leading global fund as respondent in a series of set-aside proceedings brought before the International Commercial Court of the Supreme People’s Court (ICC-SPC) against two CIETAC partial awards with a combined value exceeding US$ 140 million. The ICC-SPC fully adopted Hui Zhong’s submissions, securing a complete victory for the client.  

 

Hui Zhong also possesses market-leading experience in cross-border bankruptcy matters.  

  • Secured recognition in Mainland China of a foreign liquidation order on behalf of a foreign liquidator.  
  • Advised a Chinese policy bank on the commencement of liquidation proceedings overseas and on participation in personal bankruptcy proceedings in Hong Kong.  and provided PRC-law advice to foreign interim liquidators in the Cayman liquidation of Luckin Coffee.
