Field Introduction

Hui Zhong’s dedicated maritime team advises on domestic maritime litigation and arbitration as well as international maritime arbitration.

We have appeared before every Chinese maritime court: the Supreme People’s Court, and leading arbitral fora including CIETAC, CMAC, SCIA and HKIAC. Our work has been recognized by the Supreme People’s Court as Guiding Case No. 230 and as a “typical” case; at the same time there are cases archived in the UNCITRAL Case Law on UNCITRAL Texts (CLOUT) database.

All team members have received specialized education in maritime and commercial law. Team leader Song Dihuang is a panel arbitrator at CIETAC, CMAC and SCIA, with a docket dominated by shipping and trade disputes. Gong Qi, a core member of the team, brings first-hand industry experience from a leading shipping group.

Hui Zhong’s maritime practice has served clients including shipping companies, ship management companies, logistics companies, ship repair and shipbuilding yards, insurance companies and financial leasing companies.

Song Dihuang has been ranked Band 1 for Shipping (Northern China) in Chambers Asia-Pacific & Greater China Guide for fifteen consecutive years since 2011.
