• Representing a government-owned insurance company in a reinsurance dispute with an international insurance company before HKIAC.
• Representing a Hong Kong investor in a HKIAC arbitration concerning a company resolution dispute with a HKEX-listed PRC company.
• Representing a Chinese unicorn e-commerce platform company and its founder in arbitration proceedings before HKIAC concerning disputes over investment agreements with Series A and Series B investors.

• Representing a domestic fund company as its external legal counsel for dispute resolution, providing services including potential dispute analysis, dispute handling, evidence collection and preservation, and case representation for the fund company's investment and post-investment management activities.
• Representing a renowned Hong Kong-funded enterprise, in handling its routine dispute resolution requests and case representation for ten real estate and expressway projects across Mainland China. For similar, homogeneous disputes among these projects, we collaborate on resolution and promptly provide overarching opinions and recommendations.

 

Cross-Border Parallel Proceedings Coordination

• Representing former shareholders and management of a NYSE-listed company in a dispute with new shareholders over control of the company. Handled two CIETAC arbitrations and multiple court litigations domestically for the client, while assisting in managing parallel proceedings in the Cayman Islands, BVI, Hong Kong, and the U.S.

 

Supreme People’s Court

• Representing a renowned scientist in a trade secret infringement dispute related to the establishment of a business enterprise before the Supreme People's Court.
• Representing an international insurance company in litigation before the Supreme People’s Court concerning its insurance liability dispute. This case was selected as a 2020 Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal.
• Representing a Hong Kong-based foreign investment group in a dispute with the construction contractor over claims for accelerated work and idle time compensation under the construction contract for the group's investment in building a domestic expressway, before the Supreme People's Court.

 

CIETAC

• Representing the equity transferor in an arbitration before CIETAC concerning the equity transaction of a NYSE-listed company, with the equity value exceeding RMB¥ 6 billion.
• Representing two Cambodian companies in resolving a dispute over an international sales and purchase agreement, with its value exceeding RMB¥ 100 million.
• Representing a former senior executive of a listed company in a shareholding proxy dispute with the listed company before CIETAC, with a disputed amount of RMB¥ 400 million. Secured a complete victory for the client. This case was selected as a 2024 Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal.
• Representing an international chemical company, we initiated or defended five arbitration cases at CIETAC concerning its five major joint venture projects in China. The value of each case exceeded RMB¥ 100 million, with the largest reaching RMB¥ 2 billion.
• Representing a Hong Kong enterprise in an arbitration before CIETAC concerning a concession dispute with the local transportation bureau over its investment in constructing a mainland expressway. The case involved a claim amount of RMB¥ 2.85 billion, and we achieved a complete victory for the client.
• Representing a Hong Kong real estate company in a cooperative real estate development contract dispute with a local company in Guangdong Province, we successfully secured a RMB¥ 200 million favorable arbitration award for our client through CIETAC arbitration, fully recovering the client's losses.
• Representing a private enterprise in a trademark licensing contract dispute with a major domestic dairy company before CIETAC; the case spanned five years and we ultimately secured substantial compensation of RMB¥ 40 million for anticipated profits lost and other actual damages.
• Representing a state-owned enterprise, in handling a dispute with the general contractor over equipment supply for a power plant in Ningxia. The case involved over RMB¥ 500 million and complex technical and quality issues. Ultimately, we successfully recovered losses for our client.
• Representing a renowned insurance company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning its loan insurance contract with a state-owned bank. Ultimately succeeded in reducing the insurance liability compensation amount from US$50 million to US$15 million, achieving a highly satisfactory outcome for the client.
• Representing a Chinese automobile manufacturer in a CIETAC arbitration concerning a joint venture contract dispute with a local government, with the disputed amount exceeding RMB¥ 700 million.
• Representing a government owned company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning a corn import-export contract with a globally renowned grain trading company, successfully recovering damages for the client.
• Representing a South Korean steel company in a CIETAC arbitration concerning a joint venture contract dispute with a South Korean mining company.

 

SCIA

• Representing an investor in arbitration proceedings before the SCIA against its asset plan manager and fund manager for failing to fulfill their investment institution suitability obligations, which resulted in investment losses. Successfully recovered half of the investment loss, amounting to RMB¥ 100 million, for the client. This case stands as a rare successful instance of piercing through two layers of products to hold the managers liable.

 

SHIAC

• Represented a renowned European automobile manufacturer in a SHIAC arbitration concerning a product quality liability dispute with its Chinese parts supplier.

 

SAC

• Representing a Chinese real estate company in a SAC arbitration concerning a cooperative contract dispute with a Chinese mining company.

• Representing a Chinese company in a BAC arbitration concerning a cooperative contract dispute with a Dutch Fortune 500 company, successfully recovering tens of millions of Chinese yuan in losses for the client.
